Happy 6th of July! We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July as well! We had a great day together that we spent reading, seeing the new Spiderman movie, and dining with fun friends from church. We both really enjoyed the new Spiderman, but Fitz's heart still remains with the 2002 version. We agree that the Green Goblin is definitely the better villain, but we both loved Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy as well as Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker. Of course, we're both Garfield fans because of his awesome performance in The Social Network.
It has been hot, hot, hot here in Winston-Salem, just like everywhere else! Katherine is avoiding the outdoors as much as possible, and Fitz is changing up his running routines so he's not running when it's too hot outside. We hope everyone else is staying cool!
Yesterday Katherine made her grandmother's Southern Chess Pecan Pie. Here's a picture of the sugary goodness:
Yum! PE-can? peh-CAHN? |
Fitz has finished reading Killing Floor by Lee Child. He really enjoyed it and is looking forward to reading the next in the series. Katherine is still on her Agatha Christie run, but she confesses that perhaps she needs a breather from Monsieur Hercule Poirot before she ruins a good thing. Fitz has suggested that she read Killing Floor next. As Fitz delicately put it, the little grey cells are not so pretty in this book...Katherine probably won't be reading Killing Floor out loud to Baby B.
