It's a Bird! It's a Plane! No, It's Baby B!

Song of the Day: Be My Baby by The Ronettes

As many of you may already know, we are anticipating the (earthside) arrival of Baby Barringer on or around November 10! Katherine is a little over 14 weeks now, and we're looking forward to the second ultrasound on June 19 to find out if it's a boy or girl. We haven't decided yet whether or not to find out, and it may even be a game time decision. But we're excited, and it looks like everything is going well so far! We've also begun to add new stuffed animals to our family, a bunny named Mr. Floppy Ears and a puppy named Chips. Katherine is taking many naps and sleeping in as much as possible, knowing these luxuries will fall by the wayside in less than six months. Fitz is enjoying his routine of life as much as he can before the big event, again realizing that life after November 10 will never be the same. But, of course, for the better! We're so thrilled to be expanding our little family this fall! We are also curious to find out which quirks we will have passed on to this innocent child...

In other news, this past Saturday we walked to the Cobblestone Farmer's Market that opened in Old Salem. It was the perfect morning to walk to Old Salem and join with the festivities. Fitz bought locally grown green leaf lettuce, radicchio, and carrots. Katherine bought sugar cake and iced coffee. We feel this says a lot about us.

Here are some shots from the morning and even a short video so you can listen to the Moravian band playing!

Fitz Builds a Computer!

Song of the Day: World Spins Madly On by The Weepies

We're in what Fitz would argue is the most wonderful month of the year, May! Last Wednesday, we celebrated Fitz's birthday with an Italian dinner at home: caprese salad, veal parmesan, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, and for dessert, Katherine ate birthday cake while Fitz had his chocolate chip cookie and mango sorbet. It was a fun day to celebrate Fitz!

Winston-Salem has been bustling with activities, farmers markets opening back up, and at Reynolda House on Saturday, we celebrated Community Day, which featured performances of bits of Shakespeare plays performed by local drama students. It was a fun day, and it was great to see families enjoy the beautiful landscape on a lovely Saturday afternoon.

As you may or may not know, Fitz has been embarking on quite an adventure in geek-land recently. (Note: The previous statement is not criticism as we both were born nerds.) Fitz has successfully built a computer! It was quite the undertaking, but with perseverance and determination, it did turn on, and stay on! Katherine is quite impressed, if not also a bit clueless as to how it all works...

Hmm, seems complicated...
